Eric Steinkamp, PhD - Board Chair
Eric is a Professor of Biology at Northwest University in Kirkland, WA. He also has a Master of Divinity degree. Eric teaches one of the summer college courses at PRI - Alpine Ecology. He is an avid outdoors-person and hikes all across the state of Washington and beyond with his wife Daniela.
Teresa Ellis - TrusteeTeresa, a long term volunteer at PRI has served as Treasurer in 2019 and 2020. She is a member of the Coupeville Lions Club and is active in many community based and charitable events on Whidbey Island. Teresa also served as the President of the Penn Cove Water Festival.
Chloe Houle - Secretary
Chloe lives in Seattle and is a teacher. She took college courses at PRI and is a graduate of Bethel College, Minnesota. Chloe has volunteered at PRI for over five years.
Ronald J. Vos, PhD - TrusteeRon and his wife Nancy live in Iowa and raise sheep and several crops. Ron is recently retired as Professor of Agriculture from Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, but still teaches some courses for them. He has consulted and advised on agricultural programs in Europe and Africa for many years. Dr. Vos recently received the Master Researcher Award from the Practical Farmers of Iowa. Ron has numerous publications and book chapters to his credit.
Carol HeimgartnerCarol served one term as a PRI Trustee and has joined the Board again in November 2020. She is the proprietor of Big Rock Designs in Coupeville and has been a PRI volunteer and donor for over ten years. She brings 30+ years of local knowledge to the board having served on several other community boards as a member and officer and the Coupeville Town Planning Commission Chairman. Paula MihokPaula and her husband Ted, both of whom are very active with the Central Whidbey Lions Club, live in Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island. They have been donors and volunteers for over five years. Paula has an event service called "Painturface", and has done face painting at PRI events such as the Whidbey Island Cider Festival and Whidbey Raptor Day for three years. Paula is retired from the general workforce and currently serves as a chaplain.
